About Kindred Futures
Our Mission
Kindred Futures was created because every young person deserves to be seen for who they are — not defined by their circumstances, behaviour, or a label.
We exist to build trusting, respectful relationships that help young people grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and look forward to their future with hope.
Our Vision
A world where every young person feels valued, understood, and supported to shape their own future.
What Makes Us Different
We start with the relationship. We listen first. We meet young people where they are. We don't rush to fix — we take time to understand.
Megan — Founder & Director
Megan brings extensive experience working in children's residential care, including leadership, management and safeguarding roles.
Her approach is rooted in respect, consistency, and the belief that every young person can thrive when they have trusted adults who believe in them.
What We Do
Five areas of support, all built on trust, respect and seeing the whole person.
-
1:1 Wellbeing Mentoring
Confidence, self-esteem, communication, emotional awareness, social skills, goal setting, strengths and positive relationships.
-
Life Skills & Independence
Budgeting, cooking, shopping, routines, organisation, travel, appointments, responsibilities and preparation for adulthood.
-
Positive Activities & Experiences
Creative activities, sport, nature, hobbies, volunteering, community and cultural experiences.
-
Aspirations & Future Development
Interests, strengths, goals, education and employment aspirations, motivation and future planning.
-
Transition & Preparation for Adulthood
Independence, routines, confidence, practical skills, managing change and working towards future goals.
Listen. Understand. Grow together.
How we work — every step of the way.
- Young-person-led — their voice guides what we do
- Relationship-based — trust comes before everything else
- Strengths-based — we build on what they CAN do
- Trauma-aware — we understand how experiences shape people
- Non-judgemental — no blame, no criticism, just care
- Practical — real skills, real progress
- Aspirational — we believe in their future
"Young people are not defined by behaviour, diagnosis, care status or past experiences. They are people with strengths, hopes and potential — just like anyone else."
